Outline
Sereebo® I*, the material brand developed and produced by Teijin, is a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic. It is a raw material that is superior in strength and rigidity, and is a lighter alternative to metals. For injection molding and compression molding, there is a lineup of materials available, enabling customers to select the right material based on application needs.

Product Lineup
Sereebo® is available in two variations: P, and I. The following are the features of each variation:.
-
- P Series
- This series takes the form of pellets for long-fiber injection molding with a thermoplastic resin arranged in a matrix and reinforced with carbon fibers. It features high strength and high rigidity, and is a suitable alternative to aluminum and magnesium casting materials. It has been used mainly for camera bodies.

- I Series
- This series is a material in sheet form with short cut, randomly oriented carbon fibers cut are distributed in a thermoplasticresin. It is used for compression molding. Since it is an isotopic material, it exhibits strength in all directions. The sheet molding enables complex shapes, designs and draws unattainable in a stamped metal. Its short cycle time makes it suitable for mass production. It is currently being used to mold pickup boxes for General Motors in the U.S.
※Sereebo® I has been used for new types of GM (U.S.) vehicles.
