Sereebo® P : CFRTP for Injection Molding
Thermoplastic carbon fiber composite material applicable to complex shapes
Sereebo® stands for “Save the earth, revolutionary & evolutionary carbon,” and is a registered trademark of TEIJIN LIMITED representing a product brand for carbon fiber composite material (CFRTP) using a global environment-friendly thermoplastic resin that can bring about a new revolution in the field of manufacturing.
Sereebo® P is a type of CFRTP that can be molded using a general injection molding machine, and enables the production of CFRTP molded products of complex shapes with high productivity.
The brand consists of two categories: the LCF grade, a long-fiber reinforced resin with a polycarbonate resin matrix, and the CFP grade, a short-fiber reinforced resin with a polyamide resin matrix. By selecting and applying the grade according to the application and purpose, the material contributes not only to thinner and lighter weight products, but also to the realization of the features shown below, contributing to higher product performance and total cost reduction.

- The pellets have a core-in-sheath structure with a bundle of carbon fibers coated with matrix resin.
During injection molding, the pellets are melted in the injection molding machine and the long carbon fibers are promptly distributed, thereby providing an injection molded product with uniformly distributed long carbon fibers.

- Similar to general injection molding compounds, the carbon fibers are already homogeneously dispersed at the pellet stage.
During injection molding, the uniform distribution is maintained and provides an injection molded product.
Sereebo® P: Features and Examples of Use
High Tenacity and High Rigidity — Lightweight
This material achieves a higher carbon fiber reinforcement effect than general CFRP materials that use polycarbonate resin or polyamide resin as a matrix. While attaining the specified tenacity and rigidity, it also ensures high formability, and is expected to provide a high degree of freedom in shape design as a metal substitute material.
Formability & Paint Quality — High Surface Appearance Quality
This material has been developed for injection molding, and is capable of molding complex and micro shapes. Its proprietary formulation provides a molded product with an even and smooth surface with an excellent appearance.
Paint enables both the LCF grade and the CFP grade to be used with various designs and colors.
It is also possible to apply gloss, texture, and lubricity to the surface through surface texturing or other processes, thereby enabling the design of products with various surface qualities and textures, or achieving cost reduction through a paint-free design.
